A new academic year has begun, and thus an opportunity to acquire new knowledge and skills, gain experience, and participate in numerous events aimed at encouraging the development of entrepreneurship among young people and students of the University of Split.
One of the main goals of the Student Entrepreneurship Incubator is to encourage and develop entrepreneurship. Therefore, this year we are also organizing numerous events, among which stand out Global Entrepreneurship Week , Smart City Challenge , Get in the Ring , STup! , also at the beginning of the year , a new generation of participants of the entrepreneurial incubator is scheduled. In addition to the mentioned events, all those interested can expect lectures by prominent experts and entrepreneurs, informal gatherings…
The first prominent event is the Global Entrepreneurship Week , which has traditionally been held for the fourth year at the Faculty of Economics, organized by the Student Entrepreneurship Incubator, from Monday 18 November to Friday 22 November. It is an event that serves to celebrate entrepreneurship, innovation with the aim of encouraging the creation of new jobs through the establishment or expansion of the startup scene. One of the most important characteristics of GEW is networking , i.e. gatherings that connect participants with potential collaborators, mentors and potential investors in order to get acquainted with new possibilities and opportunities and realize new business ventures with the aim of developing a specific project.
Then we have the Smart City Challenge , which is organized by the Association of Information Technology Developers and the company Lil Code Lab under the auspices of the Split-Dalmatia County and the City of Split , in the period from Friday 22. November to Sunday 24 November. It is a marathon competition (24 hours) during which participants will have the opportunity to develop a solution (prototype) in one of the following challenges: Internet of Things (IoT), smart homes and buildings, smart transport, smart production, smart environment, smart health, smart citizens.
For the first time, we are organizing Get in the Ring (GITR) , which is also the first time in Split. It is an international event that takes place in over 100 countries around the world and is attended by thousands of innovators, company representatives, investors and other interested parties from the world of entrepreneurship and the media. GITR was founded with the aim of providing support to numerous startups in the realization of their projects in such a way as to provide them with the possibility of direct contact with investors and experts in order to help them solve the problems they face, especially in the field of financing, product development and business, and marketing.
Get in the Ring is designed through a 1-on-1 competition in the ring , where team representatives present their own startup projects with the aim of competing with their rivals and thus competing for the main prize, going to the Global Get in the Ring 2020 .
