Seventh edition of the Hack4Split hackathon: Innovative solutions for the local community brought together students from various disciplines at the Spinit incubator.

The seventh edition of the Hack4Split hackathon took place on March 16th and 17th, 2024, at the Spinit incubator, gathering students from various fields and years who collaborated on innovative solutions for the local community.

Prior to the competition, on Friday, an education session on business idea validation was held at the Faculty of Economics, led by professor Vlatka Škokić. Following the session, participants relaxed with a pub quiz, forming teams and preparing for the weekend challenges.

Saturday morning marked the beginning of the creative process. Participants swiftly began working on their solutions with support from mentors across different sectors. With an energetic atmosphere, Spinit incubator was a hub of intense discussions and brainstorming. Food and drinks were provided to maintain high energy levels throughout the day.

Sunday was dedicated to final preparations and idea presentations. Public speaking coach Pinija Poljaković prepared teams for presenting their innovations to the jury and audience.

The competition culminated in excitement surrounding the announcement of the winners. Third place was awarded to Team Future Focus with an AI system for career selection based on students’ desires and abilities. Second place went to Team Documento with an AI system for document searching. The main prize, including the audience award, was won by Team SignVox with an AI system for translating sign language into speech and text.
