The initial “Kick-off meeting” for the project “Student Business e-Academy – SbeA” was held 26. and on October 27 at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Split. The SBeA project was submitted to the first round of calls in 2015. within the Erasmus + program key activities 2: cooperation for innovation and exchange of good practice, strategic partnership activities in higher education. The projected duration of the project is 24 months, starting on January 1. October 2015. The University of Split is the coordinator of the project, and the project partners are Middlesex University Higher Education Corporation and Universidad de Málaga .
The main goal of the project is to produce a high-quality personalized e-learning program for students interested in entrepreneurship in order to provide them with the necessary resources to realize their business ideas and prepare them for entering the market. Participants will acquire key entrepreneurial skills, market knowledge and develop their interpersonal and cross-cultural skills. As part of the project, the program and collaborative workspace for users will be available on a virtual platform adapted to the needs of users, which supports the principle of open educational resources “OER – Open Educational Resources”. The project, therefore, encourages a new way of learning and teaching through digital content and the use of virtual resources, makes it easier for students to acquire digital skills, connects classrooms and digital devices and content, and increases efficiency and equality in education. SBeA also includes support through mentoring and personalized learning for participants, which is one of the main benefits of this program. The value of the project is EUR 236,400.00, of which EUR 226,400.00 was co-financed by the European Commission.
The initial meeting of the project was held in order for the partners to agree on the stages of project implementation and the schedule of project activities, to determine the responsibilities, roles and tasks of individual partners, as well as the deadlines for the execution of tasks and to agree on the allocation of the budget. The plan for the financial and administrative management of the project, as well as dissemination activities, was presented at the meeting, and special attention was focused on the discussion of intellectual results. The partners exchanged the previous experiences of their institutions related to student entrepreneurship, which could contribute to a more successful implementation of the SBeA project and improve its results.
The meeting was attended by representatives of all three partner institutions, as well as the vice-rector for science and international cooperation of the University of Split, prof. Ph.D. Alen Soldo, who is also the head of the SBeA project, and vice-dean for science and international cooperation of the Faculty of Economics in Split, prof. Ph.D. Maja Fredotović. To the satisfaction of all partners, the meeting was successful – an agreement was reached between the partners on a number of important issues.
The first generation of “Student Business e-Academy” participants will start their activities at the conference in August 2016. year and continues in October 2016, and the so-called “Multiplier event” in August 2016. will aim to disseminate activities related to the project. At that event, which will be broadcast via live stream, the academy’s program, the digital platform through which the program will be performed, and the digital start-up game created as part of the project will be presented.
