Zagreb, 2. March – Entries for the Mozgalo competition have officially begun! All students interested in data mining and creating Big Data solutions can apply from 2. March to 13 March via a web form on the Mozgal website. The official opening of the competition will take place on the 9th. March at 17:30 at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Zagreb (Department of Mathematics) in hall A001.
At the official opening of the competition, the theme of this year’s competition will be presented, as well as the partners who support the project. Also, students will be able to learn more about the experiences and impressions of last year’s Mozgal winners – more precisely, Eli Bartoš, Andrijana Brkić, Filip Bosnić and Tonij Vidović from the Kampanjci team. The official start of the competition is on the 14th. March, and this year’s prize fund is HRK 12,000 for first place, HRK 8,000 for second place and HRK 4,000 for third place.
Mozgalo is the first and only student competition in Croatia where students compete in data mining and making predictive models. It is the process of finding useful information from large amounts of structured and unstructured data. The goals of the competition are to promote education and gain practical knowledge in machine learning, statistics, econometrics and mathematics. Students are encouraged to think analytically and independently develop creative solutions to real problems. One of the main goals is to connect talented students with project partner companies, transfer knowledge and mentorship.
For students outside Zagreb, a recording of the Introductory Lecture will be published on our website. All workshops will be recorded and published on the Mozgal website. In addition, all consultations as well as submission of solutions can be done online.

We invite you to 3. national competition of teams composed of undergraduate and/or graduate and/or doctoral students of the University of the Republic of Croatia in the creation of eco-innovative food products ECOTROPHELIA CROATIA 2016!

The competition itself was started in France, where it has been held for 15 years, and for the last 6 years a European competition has been organized where the best teams from different European countries compete (ECOTROPHELIA EUROPE, www.ecotrophelia.eu).
The goal of the competition is to encourage student innovation and creativity, create new eco-innovative products based on student ideas, and their placement and promotion on the national and European markets!
After winning the 2. national competition, at last year’s European competition ECOTROPHELIA EUROPE 2015, the Croatian team presented the food thread “Unita”, and won 1st place. award for innovation and overall 4. place in the European competition!
The 3rd national competition ECOTROPHELIA CROATIA 2016 will be held June 6, 2016 years at the Faculty of Food and Biotechnology, Pierottijeva 6, Zagreb.
The winner of the national competition will represent Croatia at the European competition of the best teams, which will be held this year in early October in Paris.

The Social Innovation Tournament is a competition in the field of social entrepreneurship that is organized every year by the European Investment Bank. This year, the final event will be held in Ljubljana.
