Entrepreneurship Center Split, in collaboration with the Students’ Entrepreneurial Incubator at the Faculty of Economics in Split, is organizing the sixth edition of the Smart City Challenge hackathon. The event focuses on developing technological solutions based on IoT and smart technologies with applications in the local community. The hackathon will take place on December 3rd and 4th, 2022, at the SPINIT Incubator in Split.
The Smart City Challenge hackathon serves as a gathering place for students, programmers, entrepreneurs, and designers interested in making their city a better place. Participants can join multidisciplinary teams to collectively build innovative solutions for smarter cities. Anyone can apply, regardless of their education and profession.
The goal of developing technological solutions is their application to improve the quality of life in the local community across various sectors such as education, healthcare, housing, environment, production, tourism, etc. Participants will have 24 hours to develop a solution (prototype) in one of the specified challenges: Internet of Things (IoT), smart homes and buildings, smart transportation, smart production, smart environment, smart health, and smart citizens. Teams will have an additional 5 minutes after the competition to present their project to the expert jury. To facilitate high-quality development from idea to project, mentors will provide guidance with their knowledge and expertise. The competition program is available at the following link.
The best teams will win prizes and receive further support for the development of their projects through the Students’ Entrepreneurial Incubator. The competition has a dual character, providing teams with the opportunity to develop their ideas and projects with the help of excellent mentors and later progress with the support of project partners.
Applications are open until November 20, 2022, and can be submitted through the provided link. The competition has no upper age limit, while the lower limit is set at 18 years of age.
