Entrepreneurial Center Split, in collaboration with the Student Entrepreneurship Incubator of the Faculty of Economics at the University of Split, is implementing the “AktivniST” project with the aim of educating young people about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and devising local solutions in line with these goals.
The project focuses on young people and civic activism, with two main objectives:
The first phase involves the implementation of educational activities in the field of social entrepreneurship. Currently, idea generation techniques are being taught, while in February, a series of education on social entrepreneurship is expected. Through these educations, young people will gain knowledge about creating solutions for identified problems, learn to create social business models, analyze the entrepreneurial environment, gain insight into creating marketing strategies for social entrepreneurship, and learn about the sources and models of funding for social entrepreneurship. You can apply for social entrepreneurship education via the link.
The second phase involves organizing a two-day social hackathon called Hack4Split, aiming to create and test solutions for identified social problems in the local community. The hackathon will take place on April 9th and 10th, and you can apply until March 26th via the link. Hackathon participants will have 30 hours to create a prototype solution for the problem they choose to work on. Mentors will provide technical support in developing solutions. After the hackathon, all projects will receive further support in development through the Student Entrepreneurship Incubator.
The third and final phase of the project consists of workshops on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and socially useful learning, which will be held from May to December.
Key aspects of the project include the education and informal learning of young people, encouraging them to take on and practice the role of active citizens in various parts of social life, solving specific social problems, improving the entrepreneurial and digital skills of young people needed to enter the labor market, and strengthening solidarity among young people.
Certificates in the form of digitally signed credentials, following the EU Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), are issued for participation in the project activities.
The project is co-financed by the Central State Office for Demography and Youth and the European Solidarity Corps of the European Union, and it is implemented throughout 2022.
