The best Croatian young innovators are selected at the “Student DIGI Award 2020” competition, organized by Jutarnji list , under the auspices of Google and in cooperation with MEP Valter Flega , who is the rapporteur of the European program Digital Europe. All students and high school students can apply, as well as teams of students and students who are developing their innovative solution. Applications start from the 21st. January 2020 year and will last for a month. After that, an expert independent jury will choose the ten most innovative projects that enter the final. The best project and team, and at most the three best, out of ten finalists, win a cash prize from a fund of 50,000 kunas . In addition, the best finalists can exercise the right to mentoring support from the Zagreb Innovation Center (ZICER) for the further development of their innovation. All innovative solutions, applications, software, hardware, products can be entered into the ‘Student DIGI Award 2020’ competition. The main recommended areas are digital transformations, robotics, “smart city” and “smart villages” solutions, applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence, and other recommended areas are health and quality of life, energy and sustainable environment, transport and mobility, security, food and bio-economy, modern education, tourism and education.
Students, pupils or teams apply for the award competition from Tuesday, 21 January until Friday, 21 February 2020 through the application form . There they submit the required information about the project, among other things, a short description of the innovation, in which sector/industry you are developing your innovation, how you plan to market your product and how you will maintain profitability. You can also upload a video presentation of your product. The tender documentation is available on the site.
The names and surnames of the award winners selected by the jury will be announced on March 18, 2020 at the Great Digital Conference in Zagreb and on the jutarnji.hr portal.
